Dear Tumblers,

thensings-mysoul:

I’d like to share with you something great that God’s recently been doing in my life. I’ve been attending Meadow Brook Fellowship Church since I was baptized four years ago. I’m involved as a leader for Ignite on Wednesday nights as well as Route 252 Sunday mornings. I was part of the youth team that participated in MB Mission’s 10-day SOAR program in Texas in 2010, as well as the two-week SOAR program in Montreal in 2011. Since participating in both programs, God has developed a strong passion in my heart for missions, which is why I’m ready to take the next step in that direction!

TREK is a short term missions program for young adults and families ages 20 and older which MB Mission has designed to help willing individuals learn, grow and serve. The program structure of TREK includes eight weeks of orientation in Abbotsford, British Columbia, followed by seven and a half months of assignment which will give me a hands-on experience in areas such as children’s ministry, service projects, sports, creative witness and teaching English. At this point I have no knowledge of where I will be sent with my group on assignment, but I will find out in September once the program has commenced. The last two weeks of the TREK program are devoted to debrief, which is again located in Abbotsford where a time to rest, recover and process my experience will take place. In total, TREK is a ten month program of intense training on how to be a disciple who makes disciples.

Although this program seems like a great and exciting opportunity for growth and maturity, it will be an intense challenge to rely on God and grow in many areas including faith. I’m asking you to partner with myself and MB Mission as I serve for the total duration of the program. Two ways you can do this are through prayer and finances.

Prayer requests would include safety in travel, endurance in completing not only the assignment but the entirety of the program, unity with my team members, and good health. Also, please pray that my heart would be opened to all areas in which I can serve in, and that Jesus would shine through me to those I come in contact with.

As for finances, know that because I’ve committed to participating in this program, I take responsibility for paying for at least a portion of the cost. That being said, the total cost of the program is $11,850, which includes assignment flights, room and board, and meals. However, I am responsible for any personal costs during the program and my transportation to and from Abbotsford. If you feel God leading you to participate through financial support, I would greatly appreciate it. This financial support will not only go towards my participation in the program, but also to MB Mission. If you cannot financially support me at this time I want you to know I would greatly appreciate it if you would still be willing to support me through prayer.

If you feel called to support me through finances, please message me so I can inform you of how to do so.

In Christ,
