Anonymous asked: How do you know when you're ready for Marriage? Is there some sort of way to be able to tell if you're ready for that next chapter of life?

That’s a good question that I’m still trying to figure out and maneuver my way around. I was just talking to Laur (yesdarlingido) about this the other day.
I don’t think you can ever be fully prepared. Because you’re walking into a season of life that 1- you’ve never experienced before and 2- you can never go back from (in a perfect world.)
I do think there are steps to take to prepare yourself as much as possible, and I believe part of it is just a knowing of yourself and peace in your heart about stepping into that.
It’s complete abandonment of yourself, a full sacrifice of everything you offer - and offering it to this person. Whether they reciprocate in the same way or not. So that’s why the dating period is so important. You have the opportunity to explore this person, to find out if they are as committed to this covenantal relationship as you will be. Preparedness comes in asking hard questions, in not being afraid to have tough conversations and look for consistency. Ultimately you just walk into it in your own time, and I mean it when I say “when you know, you know.” Your future just starts to plan itself around this person effortlessly. Don’t rush anything, just let it unfold. :)

Anonymous asked: Hope, I'm struggling with what I wear. How do you put outfits together? I feel like I'm not talented enough to dress myself! Thanks!

Oh gosh. Haha. I’m not a super talented fashionista by any means. I wear lots of leggings and flannels.
But I do try to give my outfit a good mix of materials and textures. So if I’m wearing jeans, I don’t wear a denim jacket. It’s not against any rules, I just don’t like it. I wear a leather jacket or sweater. If I have leggings, I pair it with something that’s not cotton. I like to wear a lot of neutrals and then have one pop of color somewhere. Like I’ll wear black pants, black shirt, and red shoes. For example. Neutrals never go wrong! ;)
And just experiment. You never know what shapes and colors you’ll like on yourself unless you bring like 30 things in a dressing room with you haha. I’ve found the shapes that look good on me, so I stick to a combination of those.
